John Wayne Airport Posts June 2019 Statistics

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport decreased in June 2019 as compared with June 2018. In June 2019, the Airport served 918,913 passengers, a decrease of 3.4% when compared with the June 2018 passenger traffic count of 950,834.

Commercial aircraft operations decreased 4.7% and commuter aircraft operations increased 521.9% when compared with June 2018 levels.

Total aircraft operations decreased in June 2019 as compared with the same month in 2018. In June 2019, there were 25,531 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a 4.2% decrease compared to 26,643 total aircraft operations in June 2018.

General aviation activity, which accounted for 68.5% of the total aircraft operations during June 2019, decreased 5.9% when compared with June 2018.

The top three airlines in June 2019 based on passenger count were Southwest Airlines (292,364), American Airlines (157,703) and United Airlines (152,256).
